    Founder, Soul Studio

    Born & Raised in Austin, Tx, Melissa Pierce (She/Her) established her brand Soul Studio in 2016 creating a line of womenswear made from recycled flowers and natural dyes. She’s spent her years building community in the Austin area by producing fashion shows, SXSW events, pop-ups, and more. In 2023 she joined forces with Kasi Martin to co-found the Central Texas Fashion Coalition.

    Founder, Peahen Studio

    With a career spanning 10 years in fashion and sustainability, Kasi (She/Her) forged her way as a journalist and founder of The Peahen, an award-winning blog dedicated to sustainable fashion. The Coalition’s resident wordsmith, Kasi has also led communications at Fair Trade USA and directed marketing and copy campaigns for sustainable lifestyle brands.

    Today, she works as a freelance journalist and wardrobe stylist at Peahen Studio. Kasi joined forces with Melissa Pierce in 2023 to co-found the Central Texas Fashion Coalition.

    Mary McLennan (she/her) began her career with the Chicago Cubs baseball team, working in public relations and social media. She left the sports world behind to work for IBM for 7 years.

    She is passionate about animal welfare and has fostered 10 dogs. She regularly volunteers with the Slow Fashion Festival, GOOD group ATX, and she is a Zero Waste Block Leader for the City of Austin.

  • Founder of Eco-Stylist

    Garik Himebaugh is the founder of Eco-Stylist, your guide to find and shop certified sustainable brands. Garik has been both a speaker and a moderator to university classrooms around the world, conferences, MOLA Day in LA, and Sustainable Fashion Forum. He has been featured in Bloomberg, Apparel News, Forbes, Pitchbook, and on 30+ podcasts. With 6+ years experience researching sustainable fashion brands, Garik helps fashion brands advance and communicate their sustainability efforts, and serves on the Board of Advisors for the SANE Standard. He has an MBA from Iowa.

    He is currently based in Austin, Tx and Mexico City (CDMX)

    Kara is the founder and creator of Blocks of Style, a personal styling service that specializes in helping busy women cultivate their unique personal style. When she found herself at a career crossroads after more than a decade of practicing law, she let go. She became a wardrobe stylist, leveraging a childhood spent learning about fabrics, drape, and proportion, a lifelong love of fashion, real-life experience gained while working in women's retail, and more recent experience as a trusted advisor.

    The Blocks of Style Method is an easy-to-follow, practical approach to fashion. In a world of fast fashion and constantly evolving trends, her approach offers flexibility and empowers women to feel confident and rooted in their authentic selves.

  • Creative Director/Product Designer of Material Union

    After 10 years of working In the tech Industry Christa is stepping away from high-tech to start a the first textile recycling cooperative here in Austin, Texas. This worker-owned warehouse will intercept the estimated 14,869,333 lbs (7,435 tons) of clothing that are baled and shipped out of Austin and sent overseas to pollute vulnerable communities and create more landfills every MONTH. Goodwill of Austin alone will ship off an estimated 1 million pounds every month. I know, its gross. So we will sort, process, and turn those clothes no one wants into eco-friendly, high-performing insulation for homes, furniture stuffing, poly-fill products, and hopefully some amazing creations by slow fashion designers here in Austin.

    Natalie is a multifaceted artist and seasoned fashion designer with over 5 years of experience in the dynamic realms of design, product development, and trend forecasting. She is driven by a passion for creativity, innovation, and sustainability.

    As a multifaceted artist she specializes in various mediums including illustration, collage art, painting, and sewing, among others. This diverse skill set allows her to bring a unique perspective and creative approach to all projects.

    Currently, she’s the Assistant Designer to the Creative Director and Head of Product Development at Underclub, where she plays a pivotal role in captivating photoshoots, creating new and exciting products, and developing seasonal themes that keep our brand fresh and relevant. From the initial concept to the final product she thrives on bringing ideas to life and seeing creations come to fruition.

    Beyond her professional endeavors, she’s deeply committed to sustainability and am known for my innovative approach to fashion design. With a passionate about upcycling vintage finds and incorporating recycled materials into her creations, showcasing how old items can be given new life while reducing waste.

    Jordan is a natural collaborator with an eye for design. She is driven to see a growing prioritization of the planet and the people involved in the garment + textiles industry. Her background is in International Business, Humanities, and Social Sciences, shaping her emphasis on social responsibility –– in addition to studying Fashion Sustainability at Parsons School of Design, fostering a deeper sense of Slow and Regenerative Design Practices.

    Her photography work includes goods and clothing from emerging brands and independent designers + humanitarian NGO advancement + interiors through an organic, raw, documentary style approach. By combining creativity, empathy, and respect for people and the planet, she strives to contribute to a more conscious and sustainable fashion industry through creating imagery to communicate the processes, stories, and hands within it.

    Tanisha is a Personal Stylist and Color Analyst for Woman Professionals & Entrepreneurs. She is passionate about helping you embody your future self NOW, while looking and feeling your best! She believes that finding your style is part of finding yourself and is here to help you on that journey. Tanisha has a degree in Event Management that she acquired from the Rosen College of Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida. She has loved fashion all her life and learned early on how fashion can transform you. She decided to pursue styling as a career in 2023. She has been mentored by and trained with stylists, color analysts, and received a Styling Foundations certificate from FIT. Since then she has helped style women for events, conferences, professional work and daily life. She has also helped her clients shine through Color Analysis. Her goal is to help you reach your full potential and harness the power of style to manifest your wildest dreams! In her free time, she likes to shop, cuddle with her dog Cocoa Bean, try new restaurants with friends, listen to Taylor Swift, paint, and Facetime her sisters (like a lot). Tanisha offers Personal Styling services, Photography and Event Styling services, and Color Analysis services - both in-person and online.

    My name is Jada Taylor, and I’m the designer behind Mixd Fashion. With nearly a decade in film, working as a tailor and stylist for productions like Netflix, Disney, Universal, and Warner Brothers, I bring high-quality craftsmanship and creativity to every project. Recently, I moved from Cleveland, Ohio, to Austin, Texas, to grow both my brand and film career. Mixd Fashion is all about breaking fashion rules with a mix of street and country vibes, celebrating girl power and individuality. As a proud female and minority-owned business, Mixd designs standout looks, from sequined chaps and cowboy boot tops to track pants! We’re known for our imaginative use of color, texture, and a signature sporty western theme. Every Mixd piece is sewn in-house and available in a limited size range to maintain quality and exclusivity. As a zero-waste brand, we repurpose every fabric scrap into scrunchies, dog beds, or pillow fillings. Mixd sells online or at pop-up events, we also offer custom looks for artists, musicians, and more.
